Jeter Farms
I told you I had an addiction to pumpkin patches! We of course had to find one in Roanoke, so we after some searching online, I came across Jeter Farms and we made the short drive out! We stopped by the mini corn pool first. Nothing compares to the Center Grove corn pool in Iowa. I wish I had snagged a picture back in Des Moines, but next time! They were cooking kettle corn right be the corn pool, so of course we grabbed a bag to take with us on the rest of our exploring. We saw a few animals, some cute piggies, a peacock, goat and a couple chickens. M was hoping for more chickens and even asked if there were more to be found somewhere. He's a farm boy at heart.
We then hopped on a wagon ride to the corn maze. The man driving the tractor convinced me to take the boys through the corn maze. It was the first one we've ever done and there was a moment of panic on my part when we had turned around a few times, but we managed to make it out! From there we headed to the jump pad and the slides. X is a huge fan of the slides. M seems drawn to anything he can climb on, especially hay bales. Both boys love the train ride, and I loved that everything accept the pumpkins and food were included in admission! The views were also a favorite of mine with the mountains in the background and the surrounding fields of sunflowers.
The last stop of our visit was to the pumpkin patch to find the best carving pumpkins possible. M picked out the biggest he could find, but X was more into finding the perfect size he could carry. We took them home and carved them after nap that day! M drew the picture for his design and momma helped him make it happen. He is at such a fun age to develop his creativity and independence. I just love it!
