ZooTampa
We were so pleasantly surprised by this zoo! First thing when you walk in they snap your picture. We've since been 3 times, and my kids still don't want to pose for a nice picture...especially not by themselves without parents. hah! Alongside the animals, there are 2 spraygrounds and a
mini amusement park where X was able to ride his very first
rollercoaster. He said it was a little bit scary but not so scary. We
have since gone back and he rode it again! There is a small playground,
plenty of shade and nice places to sit and enjoy lunch. We packed our
own of course and I had to laugh that I brought chili as a lunch to eat
“on the go”. The animals here were incredible. My favorite is always the
monkeys and other primates. M loved watching the baboons play chase and
jump off rocks. I think he was a bit jealous. X loved the rhinos. I’m
excited he got to see them. He likes the rhino villain from Spiderman
and the blue Power Ranger costume, “Billy”, is his favorite because of
the horns on the mask that he can poke his dad and brother with. I’m
pretty sure it’s not a rhino, but we won’t tell him any different when
he’s having that much fun. The manatees are also a family favorite because you view them from underwater. And don't forget the penny crushers! There are 3 machines here, and the pennies each cost a $1 and you can pay by card, so of course the boys want to spend $12 on souvenir pennies. We did not spend $12 on pennies....
We loved this zoo so much, we took RoRo and
UW here when they came to visit and the weather wasn’t cooperating well enough for a beach trip. RoRo
bought the boys tickets to feed the birds which was hilarious and
entertaining. We also waited in line for the Safari trucks which was
definitely a do once and be done with it kind of ride. The boys loved
the truck, but waiting in line was tough. You do get a different view of
the animals form the trucks, so that was fun as well. When Nonnie comes
to visit, I’m sure we’ll bring her here as well!

| You might know why flamingos are pink, but did you know they aren't the only pink birds native to Florida!? I did not. The Roseate Spoonbill is also pink! |

| Someone was offended by the sun in his face on the way home...Also note his beat up knees, a sign of a wild childhood. |
