Braeburn (Dog) Park

 

So, this was listed as a park in Apple Maps, but a dog park in Google Maps. It was the perfect little spot for a short or long trip and close to our apartment. There were plenty of dogs on the trail and thankfully both boys like dogs. I did of course step in some dog poop on the way back and couldn’t bring myself to wash it in the creek so into the grass and then a good sanitizing wash at home. Did you know dog poop is TERRIBLE for the water? So make sure you pick up your poop. 😜 We took our nets and X actually walked the whole way. A good walking stick or a net make the going much easier for the kids. The creek was freezing but M and walked in pretty far and X did some splashing. I loved soaking in the beauty and all the little stairs that were built into the bank. Quite a few were washed out because you know, nature always wins. We saw signs of beavers here as well as at Rushmore Lion’s Park but I have yet to see a beaver in the wild and let’s just say I’m super disappointed. 

 

We collected some nature samples and inspired by my homeschooling sister, we took those home to make some nature scenes. M made a T-Rex and a person. X made a pile of flowers that I might've helped scoot apart to make a garden scene.
