First Day of School
First day of school looks a lotta bit different for us this year, mainly because we don’t have one!! We’ve always planned to have M start kindergarten at age 6, but usually he attends preschool. With us changing cities every 3 months, I will do some very laid back homeschooling with him and try to find ways for him to socialize throughout the year. We mostly just want to let him be a little kid this year, getting in plenty of free-play and outside time. I’m thankful to have found a STEAM program that offers short classes he can attend! He’s loved them so far and the teachers are great at Dakota STEAM. I know he misses preschool and his friends there, so this helps fill the gap. The classes take place at a church with a fun little playground we love to visit after class.
He also started karate here and we’ve loved their program so much, we hope to continue at our next stop which we should hopefully know in the next week or two.
Enjoy some candid pictures below of us recharging after a weekend being loved on by our friends. We load around, watched some Bluey, took a walk with incredible views, made vinegar eggs, soaked up the sun at our apartment pool, fueled my Sonic tea addiction, and visited a new playground (Parkview Park, the pool there was already drained!!!). X loved playing restaurant at the little table. He very thoughtfully ordered pinecones and a hot dog. M gathered up the pinecones in a “campfire” then moved them to use with the diggers. My kids love these digger contraptions so much. Maybe EZ will let us have one in the backyard one day, hah!
These are what our first days of school have looked like this year, and I cannot complain one bit. I’ll be praying diligently for teachers and families this week as they start back!
